How to prioritize match in the title attribute?
➡️ If you wish to give preference to matches in the title over category or other important attributes, we can manually configure the system for you.
Before making this adjustment, it's essential to be aware of the potential downsides, primarily its limited focus on other important attributes.
Consider the following scenario:
Product A: Title - Green Shirt Nike
Product B: Title - Shirt Nike (Color: Green)
In this case, if a user searches for "green shirt", we will prioritize Product A due to its exact match in the title. However, Product B, which is much more popular, may not appear at the top of the result set, even though it is a better option for the user. If many products follow a similar pattern (e.g., 100 products like Product A), Product B may not even appear on the first page of results, diminishing the overall user experience.
This issue is particularly prevalent in specific segments, such as groceries. For example:
Product P: Title - Pilsner Urquell (Category: Beer)
Product Q: Title - Beer Pâté
In this case, when searching for "beer", Product Q (Beer Pâté) may be displayed higher in search results because of its title, despite Product P (Pilsner Urquell) being a much more relevant and popular option.
